These Terms & Conditions apply to membership of Maestri and to any services, events, experiences, training camps, race & sportive support packages, member benefits, partner offers or other products made available to Maestri members.
By applying to become a Maestri member, accepting membership, booking an event, purchasing a paid service, or using the Maestri website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. About Maestri
Maestri is a pro-am cycling community and member platform. We provide members with access to a range of free and paid road & gravel cycling-related services, experiences, training camps, race and sportive support, partner offers, content, community benefits and other member opportunities.
Maestri may update, add, remove or change its member benefits and services from time to time.
2. Free-for-life membership
Membership of Maestri is currently free-for-life.
This means that accepted members will not be charged a recurring membership subscription fee for basic membership access.
Free membership does not mean that all Maestri services are free. Members may be offered access to both free and paid services, including but not limited to training camps, race events, sportive experiences, merchandise, partner offers, coaching, support packages, travel-related support, community events and other Maestri experiences.
3. Membership applications and acceptance
Membership is subject to application and acceptance by Maestri.
Maestri may accept, decline, suspend or terminate membership at its discretion where it reasonably considers this appropriate, including where a member acts in a way that is unsafe, abusive, dishonest, discriminatory, disruptive, harmful to other members, harmful to Maestri, or inconsistent with the spirit of the Maestri community.
4. Paid services and event bookings
From time to time, Maestri may offer members the opportunity to book paid services, events, training camps, race support, sportive support or other experiences.
The details, price, location, dates, inclusions and exclusions of each paid service or event will be set out at the time of booking or in the relevant event information.
A booking is only confirmed when Maestri has accepted the booking and the required payment has been received in cleared funds.
5. No cooling-off period for dated events, camps and race/sportive bookings
Where a member books a Maestri training camp, event, race support package, sportive support package, member experience or other leisure activity that takes place on a specific date or within a specific period, the booking is final once confirmed and paid.
Members acknowledge that these bookings relate to leisure activities, events and/or capacity-limited experiences on specific dates or during specific periods. As a result, once a booking has been confirmed and paid for, there is no cooling-off period and no automatic right to cancel for a refund.
This reflects the UK position that the usual 14-day cooling-off period does not generally apply to accommodation, catering or leisure activities arranged for specific dates or periods.
6. No refunds for confirmed bookings
Unless Maestri expressly states otherwise in writing, all confirmed and paid bookings for training camps, race events, sportive events, member experiences and other dated or capacity-limited services are non-refundable.
This includes where a member can no longer attend due to illness, injury, travel disruption, diary conflict, change of circumstances, failure to train, failure to obtain insurance, failure to obtain travel documents, or any other personal reason.
Members are therefore strongly advised to obtain appropriate travel, medical, accident, cycling and cancellation insurance before booking or attending any Maestri event.
7. Moving bookings
Subject to availability and Maestri’s discretion, Maestri may allow a member to move a confirmed booking to another available event, date, camp or experience.
Maestri is not obliged to move a booking and cannot guarantee that an alternative date, event or place will be available.
Where a booking is moved, Maestri may charge any difference in price, additional supplier costs, administrative costs or other costs incurred as a result of the change.
Moved bookings remain non-refundable.
8. Mandatory insurance
Appropriate insurance is a mandatory requirement for attending any Maestri training camp, race support package, sportive event, domestic or overseas trip, cycling experience or other physical activity organised, hosted or facilitated by Maestri.
Members are responsible for arranging and paying for their own insurance.
Insurance should be appropriate for the nature of the activity and may need to include, where relevant, travel insurance, medical insurance, emergency treatment, repatriation, personal accident cover, cycling-specific cover, race or sportive participation cover, equipment cover and cancellation cover.
Maestri may provide information about insurance options, routes or providers, but members remain solely responsible for selecting, arranging and maintaining suitable cover.
Maestri may refuse participation where a member cannot provide evidence of appropriate insurance when requested.
9. Health, fitness and participation risk
Cycling, training, racing, sportive participation, travel and related physical activities involve inherent risks.
Members are responsible for ensuring that they are medically fit, physically capable and appropriately prepared for any activity they choose to attend.
Members should not participate in any Maestri activity if they are injured, unwell, medically advised not to participate, or otherwise unable to do so safely.
Maestri may refuse or withdraw participation where it reasonably considers that a member’s participation may create a risk to themselves, other participants, staff, partners or the wider event.
10. Travel, accommodation and personal arrangements
Unless expressly included in the relevant booking information, members are responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel, accommodation, transfers, visas, passports, equipment transport, bike transport, meals, insurance and other personal expenses.
Members are responsible for ensuring that they have valid travel documents, appropriate entry permissions, suitable insurance and any required licences, race entries or event permissions.
11. Third-party events and providers
Some Maestri services may involve third-party venues, race organisers, sportive organisers, hotels, transport providers, coaches, guides, insurers, bike shops, hospitality, brand partners or other suppliers.
Maestri is not responsible for the acts, omissions, rules, availability, cancellations, safety standards or service delivery of independent third parties, except where required by law.
Members may also be required to comply with the terms, rules, waivers, safety instructions or entry conditions of third-party providers or event organisers.
12. Changes to events
Maestri may need to make changes to an event, camp, route, itinerary, staff member, venue, partner, supplier, schedule or format where reasonably necessary.
This may include changes caused by weather, safety issues, road closures, illness, supplier changes, event organiser decisions, force majeure, low attendance, logistical issues or circumstances outside Maestri’s reasonable control.
Where Maestri makes a material change, it will aim to notify affected members as soon as reasonably practicable.
13. Member conduct
Members are expected to behave respectfully, safely and responsibly towards other members, staff, riders, suppliers, partners, volunteers, event organisers and the public.
When representing a Maestri team at a sportive, race or training camp, members must wear branded Maestri clothing (a minimum of cap or sweatshirt or t-shirt) whilst travelling to & from the venue location.
Maestri may remove a member from an event or terminate membership where a member behaves in a way that Maestri reasonably considers unsafe, abusive, aggressive, discriminatory, dishonest, inappropriate, unlawful or damaging to Maestri or the wider community.
No refund will be due where a member is removed from an event or has membership terminated due to misconduct.
14. Photos, video and content
Maestri may take photos, video and other content at events, camps and member experiences for marketing, social media, editorial and community purposes.
Where reasonably possible, Maestri will respect requests not to be featured prominently in marketing content.
Members must not use Maestri’s name, logo, branding, content or images for commercial purposes without prior written permission.
15. Member communications
By joining Maestri, members agree that Maestri may contact them about membership, bookings, events, services, benefits, safety information, partner offers and community updates.
Members can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time, although Maestri may still need to send essential service, booking, safety or administrative communications.
16. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or breach of statutory rights.
Subject to the above, Maestri is not responsible for indirect losses, loss of enjoyment, loss of opportunity, travel costs, accommodation costs, equipment costs, loss of income, or other personal expenses incurred by a member in connection with a booking, event or service.
17. Updates to these Terms
Maestri may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The latest version will be made available on the Maestri website. Continued membership, use of the website or booking of Maestri services after the Terms are updated will mean that the updated Terms apply.
18. Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law gives a member the right to bring proceedings in another jurisdiction.
